I absolutely love what I do! It is my hope and dream that I can continue to do this as long as my hands and fingers can handle the work load. I thought it might be fun to give you an idea of what a typical day looks like for me. Since my income is very important to the running of the household I carry a bit of pressure to work harder than artists that create simply for fun. This will not always be the case for me. When I am famous I will be able to sit back, slow down and smell a few of the roses. Until that time it is my passion for what I do that sustains me.
The fun part about BuTT UgLee is that each day I can pick and choose what I'd like to do. I have tons of options!
I usually start out sewing a few designs I have drawn out the night before. Sewing does not require any brain function so this is the best way to start my morning. Coffee helps too!
I usually fire up my computer, while I walk my LiLLy - the best Bernese Mountain Dog on the planet.

I like to check my email to see if there are orders to pack and prepare to ship. I also use this time to reply to convos from Etsy and Emails from customers. I try REALLY hard to break away an get down to work. If I linger on the web I can eat up at least an hour roaming Etsy, blogs and other artists sites. DANGER! DANGER!
This is the best time for me to start painting. If I start early I am able to let layers dry during the course of the day and possibly allow the whole piece dry over night. In the morning it is completely dry, ready for finishing touches, tags and pictures. If I stay focused I can get the finished piece upload to
My Etsy Shop in the morning. The process sounds short and sweet but actually takes way longer then it sounds. I tend to agonize over what color ribbon to use to attach the tag. Sounds insane but it really makes a difference. Everything I do to each creation makes a difference to me. If something is not quite right it drives me CRAZY!
Here is an example ...
I made this way cool mermaid with a starfish boinging out of her side ... sweet!
Now ... look at the bows in her hair. They are yellow! UHG! They blend in too much.
I should have used a different color!
That is going to drive me CRAZY every time I look at her picture or even think about her.
Everything matters ... Everything counts
NEXT ... I set my UgLee up for the photo shoot. I use white foam board so I have a clean background.
I usually take 20-25 photos from all different angles.
They are uploaded to my computer and edited. This takes some time because I need to choose the best pictures, clean them up and resize them. Then it is off to Etsy I go! I have become very proficient at the whole upload process.
It is at this time that I come up with a name and a story. Sometimes it happens earlier but it often happens at the very end. I found this awesome site that has
zillions of names. I roam around a pick on from this list. Then I just let my mind go. Crazy s*it starts to come out and I just start typing. I end up editing out most of it due the complete bizarreness of it all. You see the end product under each description.
That's it!
